Sales Person

 
RELATIONSHIPS
 

Responsible to: Area Manager

 
Responsible for: None
 
Other contacts: Liaise with technical adviser and regional products adviser
 
 

JOB PURPOSE

 
• To obtain maximum penetration of the company's products from potential industrial users in the sales area within agreed sales targets.
 
 

JOB CONTENT

 
• Identifies industrial and commercial users of our products in sales area.
 
• Contacts these users in order to maintain current levels of business and expand in the face of competition from existing suppliers.
 
• Works with specialist colleagues to provide an effective problem-solving service for users' technical problems and to meet their requirements through our products.

General appearance

Neat, well-groomed appearance

Education

Year 12 including Mathematics and English; technical subjects an advantage.

Interests and hobbies

Depth of interest and achievement in more than one activity. Interest in mechanical things. Assertive behaviour, for example competitive at sports and social pursuits. History of successfully encouraging or persuading others

Work experience

Proven ability to work with others from varied backgrounds. Has persevered with success in disagreeable tasks. Sales experience and experience of organising own work would be advantageous. Evidence of success in the face of difficulties or under pressure.

Plans and ambitions

Has worked towards a career in selling. Awareness of business environment. Has taken steps to make a realistic career plan. Has shown keenness to absorb technical data. Positive preference for selling to industry. Results-oriented

Personality

Able and willing to move about and be away from home. Likely age group 22-35. Sense of humour. Driving licence
